About Cath

Catherine’s original training for The GYROTONIC® Method was in Hong Kong with Master Trainer Dawnna Wayburne, where she experienced levels 1&2 of The GYROTONIC® Method and began her GYROKINESIS® training. Since returning to Melbourne Catherine has furthered her education in this field adding qualifications in specialised equipment (Jumping Stretching Board, Gyrotoner) as well as The GYROTONIC® Method. She is a pre-trainer in The GYROTONIC® Method under Master Trainer Dana Rader

Originally trained as a Registered Nurse, Catherine has a special interest in how movement can improve the quality of life for clients suffering illness or injury, and owned and operated a studio in Hong Kong focusing on this, with her clients including children, dancers, swimmers, elderly clients; she also specialised in assisting clients with lower back injuries.

Catherine has been certified as a Pilates Instructor since 2007, in Mat, Reformer, Standing Pilates and Studio equipment. She is also trained in Progressing Ballet Technique.

Catherine’s belief is that clients of all ages can achieve ease of movement and better quality of life by finding their own path to agility and balance, particularly after injury. Exercises given in her classes are designed to be useful functionally in everyday life.
